Legal
Terms of use
Last updated August 17, 2026
These Terms of Use are the contract for rabbitmap.app and the RabbitMap service. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use RabbitMap.
“We,” “us,” and “RabbitMap” mean the operator of the service. We may name a legal entity later; until then, the operator of RabbitMap is the contracting party. The Privacy policy and the Method / methodology pages are part of how the product works; they do not replace these terms.
What RabbitMap is
RabbitMap is an educational and archival project. It maps rabbit holes: disputed narratives, the camps that argue them, the evidence each side cites, and how those files connect. Scores (structure, evidence types, polarization, prominence) describe the file — not the truth, and not a verdict.
Entries document claims people make. They are not endorsements. Publishing a hole is not an accusation, a finding of fact, or a call to action. We are not a news organization, not a court, and not your researcher-for-hire unless a separate written agreement says so.
What RabbitMap is not
- Not a truth engine. Ask answers and hole text organize disputes. They do not tell you which camp is right.
- Not professional advice. Nothing here is legal, medical, mental-health, financial, investment, or safety advice. Do not treat a file as a reason to take or skip medicine, move money, or confront anyone.
- Not a scoring of you. Compare and “take a stand” are a blind reasoning exercise. RabbitMap does not grade you right or wrong. Digging sources after you answer is optional — not a second exam.
- Not a promise to publish. Suggesting an uncharted hole, or paying for a higher review priority, does not require us to research or ship that file.
Sensitive material
The archive includes conspiracy theories, violent crime, terrorism, war, abuse, medical claims, and other material that can be graphic, false, inflammatory, or distressing. Some files discuss living people. We present camps and sources so you can see the argument — not so you will adopt it.
You choose to enter a hole. If a topic is harmful for you, leave it. We do not recommend using RabbitMap as a substitute for crisis care or professional help.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 to create an account, and old enough in your country to agree to these terms. The site is not directed at children. If you use RabbitMap for an organization, you represent that you can bind it.
Accounts and security
Sign-in is email plus a one-time code. You may add a passkey and an authenticator app. You are responsible for the inbox and devices you use to sign in. Tell us if you lose control of the address on the account.
One person, one account, unless we say otherwise. Do not share sign-in codes. We may refuse, lock, or delete an account that looks automated, abusive, or a duplicate.
Visitors may open a few published holes and take a stand on a few cases. After that, Explorer (free, no card) is the path to keep walking. Limits exist so the archive is not a drive-by dump.
Plans and payment
Explorer is free. RabbitMap Pro is a paid monthly membership that lets you commission Dig deeper on gaps we have not mapped yet. The monthly allowance is limited research time — not cash, not credits you can withdraw, and not a research-for-hire SLA. Feature lists on the account page are the current offer; we can change a plan going forward.
If we charge a card, a payment processor (such as Stripe) handles the card data. Fees are as shown at checkout, plus taxes we must collect. Unless the law or the checkout page says otherwise, paid time is non-refundable once the period starts. Cancel before renewal to stop the next charge. We can suspend a paid feature if payment fails.
Drafts from a Dig you fund stay visible to you even if we do not publish them. We may refuse, revise, or unpublish a hole. Checkout and the customer portal are the source of paid access; the browser is not. Card-on-file control is handled by Stripe and does not by itself create a charge. When charges begin, the checkout or invoice you accept is the price.
Your use of the service
We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use RabbitMap for personal, educational, and research purposes, in line with these terms.
You agree not to:
- Use the site to harass, threaten, dox, or incite violence against anyone, or to plan a crime.
- Upload or ask us to host child sexual abuse material, or sexual content involving minors. We will report it.
- Impersonate RabbitMap, a source, or another person in a way meant to deceive.
- Scrape, bulk-download, or republish the archive in a way that substitutes for the service, overloads it, or evades limits — except ordinary browser use, public search indexing we allow, or written permission.
- Probe, probe-scan, or disrupt the service, or bypass access controls, visitor gates, or plan limits.
- Use Ask, suggestions, or accounts to spam, seed malware, or inject content we did not ask for.
- Treat hole text, Ask answers, or scores as our statement that a claim is true, or as a license to defame someone.
Suggestions, Ask, and stands
When you type an Ask, file a suggestion, or take a stand, you grant RabbitMap a worldwide, royalty-free license to use that text and those answers to operate, improve, and (for suggestions we accept) research and publish related files. We may edit, refuse, or discard a suggestion. Priority review is a queue position, not a publication guarantee.
You represent that you have the right to send us what you send, and that it is not illegal for you to possess. Do not paste other people’s private data, trade secrets, or confidential government material into Ask.
Public discussion features, if enabled, may show your words to other readers. We can remove posts. Display names are not a byline on compare aggregates.
Our files, sources, and your rights in them
The selection, arrangement, map, methodology, copy we write, and software are RabbitMap’s (or our licensors’). You may quote short excerpts for criticism, comment, news, teaching, or scholarship, with credit to RabbitMap and a link when it is practical. You may not copy the corpus, our packet structure, or the map as a competing archive.
Sources remain with their owners. We cite and, where the law allows, quote or link for educational documentation of a public dispute. A citation is not an affiliation. If you own a copyright and believe a file uses your work beyond what the law allows, write to legal@rabbitmap.app with: your contact details, the work, the URL on RabbitMap, and a good-faith statement that you are the owner or agent. If you are in the United States, include the elements of a DMCA notice (17 U.S.C. § 512). We may remove or revise a file while we look.
Names, faces, and events in a hole are there because the narrative is already public. Appearance in a file is not an endorsement of any camp about that person.
Third-party links and embeds
Holes point at articles, archives, videos, and other sites. We do not control them. An embed (including YouTube) is that platform’s player and terms. If a link is dead, captured, or hostile, that is a property of the web, not a warranty we broke.
Research pipeline and editorial control
Drafts can be researched with tools and then read by a human before publish. We can revise, unpublish, or refuse a file at any time. Method pages explain the indexes; they are not a promise that every file is complete or that every camp is equally documented on day one.
Availability
We provide RabbitMap as-is. Features can change, break, or go away. We may throttle Ask, the map, or visitor access to keep the service up. We are not liable for downtime, lost drafts, or a hole that is later rewritten.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent the law allows, RabbitMap and its operators disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that content is accurate, complete, current, or safe to act on, or that the site is free of errors or harmful components.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, RabbitMap and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or reputational harm, arising from the site, a hole, an Ask answer, a stand, a suggestion, or these terms — even if we were told the damage was possible.
Our total liability for any claim relating to RabbitMap will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the three months before the claim, or (b) twenty-five U.S. dollars. Some places do not allow these limits; there, we limit liability to the maximum the law allows. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited, such as certain personal injury or fraud claims where the law forbids a waiver.
Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify RabbitMap and its operators against claims, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising from your misuse of the service, your suggestions or posts, or your breach of these terms — except to the extent we caused the claim by our own willful misconduct.
Termination
You can stop using the site and delete your account in Account. We can suspend or end access if you breach these terms, if the law requires it, or if we shut the service down. Sections that should survive (including licenses we need for already-queued suggestions, disclaimers, limits, and indemnity) survive.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that if you are a consumer in a place that does not allow that choice, the mandatory consumer laws of your residence apply instead.
Before filing a claim, email legal@rabbitmap.app and give us 30 days to try to resolve it. If we cannot, courts of competent jurisdiction in the United States may hear the dispute, unless a mandatory law requires a different forum. You and we waive class actions to the extent the law allows; if that waiver is unenforceable, the rest of this section still applies.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The new version is posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we will try to flag it on the site or by email to the address on the account. Continued use after the update is acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using RabbitMap and delete the account.
Miscellaneous
These terms are the whole agreement for use of the public service. If a court strikes a clause, the rest stays. We can enforce our rights late without losing them. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them to a successor operator. There are no third-party beneficiaries except as the law requires.
